With only three ingredients and an abundance of fresh strawberries, it’s easy and economical to make your own Fresh Strawberry Sauce.
Spring is in the air and in South Florida, that means strawberry everything! One of my favorite go-to things to do with fresh fruit is to make a homemade sauce like this homemade Fresh Strawberry Sauce. It has only three ingredients and the toughest part of the recipe is cutting up the strawberries – so really – it’s a “no-brainer”. And here’s a hint: you could do a large cut on the strawberries if you’d like. I am just a bit of a perfectionist and want to have the perfect evenly-sized little bites in my sauce.
In case you didn’t know, strawberries freeze really well. So if your local farmers’ market or grocery store has them on sale when they are in season, go ahead and stock up. Simply wash and dry the berries; cut them in half or quarters; place them in a zip-top bag, and you have fresh/frozen berries ready to go whenever you want them. You can use fresh/frozen strawberries for this recipe when fresh is not in season. Frozen berries are also fantastic for breakfast smoothies.

- Lemon Zest Enhancement - Add a hint of fresh lemon zest to enhance the brightness and depth of flavor in your homemade strawberry sauce.
